This is a unique book: This is a bilingual book, featuring the original poem in German and the translated English version. A simple flip reveals one or the other versions with illustration artworks on both – serigraphs and texts are printed on both front and back pages. The book has a removable spine, allowing it to be viewed as a bound book or an accordion book. The translation and original 8-color serigraphs are by Dirk Hagner. A simple turn reveals one or the other versions with illustration artworks on both. The text is printed using letterpress, utilizing Baskerville and Frutiger types, with graphite hand-drawn markings The pages were printed on a Showcard letterpress on continuous 90-inch strips of 250 gsm rag paper.
Closed dimensions of the book are 12.125 x 9.125 x 0.675 inches, (31 cm x 23 x 1.75 cm), fully open 12.125 x 108 inches (31 cm x 275 cm). There are 10 copies of the 2-language version, and one in English only.

My artist books, broadsides, and loose-leaf editions are published in very small numbers, as low as five. All are hand-printed and hand-bound (in the case of books) by me, all are signed and numbered. While I am trying to be perfect, I am human, not a machine. Some variations in the editioned work are to be expected due to the processes, materials, and the artist’s change of mind. It is exactly what makes the work collectible: each piece is an original work of art. The pieces employ printmaking like original etchings, woodcuts, carborundum, screen prints, monotype, monoprint, and letterpress. Rarely is any part produced using digital methods, and if so it is clearly indicated, and only when no other options were available.
