Chine collé is a way in printmaking to print on a very thin sheet of paper and to glue it simultaneously onto a thicker piece of intaglio printing paper. The piece of chine collé can be the size of the whole plate or any other shape the printmaker desires. This piece carries a short poem by Paul Celan after which the work is titled.
