woodcut portrait of Richard Feynman by printmaker Dirk Hagner
In printmaking, the woodblock print is a great medium to portray expressive personalities. Richard Feynman was part of The Manhattan project, resolved the Challenger disaster, taught and contributed to quantum theory, translated Mayan hieroglyphics, was an inspired teacher, wrote popular books and played the bongos – among many other things. He won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1965.
