woodcut portrait of Klaus Kinski by printmaker Dirk Hagner
This woodblock print of actor Klaus Kinski (1926-1991) is a good example of how the woodgrain can become part of the composition in this particular medium of printmaking. Klaus Kinski was driven, a rebel and enfant terrible. He was well known for his over-the-edge performances in his acting and poetry recitals. His disdain for Hollywood was legendary.
